Early Summer: Opening the Cottage

Ahoy! Ben and I have been so busy lately with the house there hasn’t been a ton of down time. On top of that, last summer was a bad year for weather in Ontario and with our wedding in September (and fixing up the barn) we had very few nights at the cottage. This past weekend we went to the lake to open everything up (putting dock in, cleaning cabins, etc.)  and enjoy some of the amazing heat we have gotten unusually early. It’s glorious! So we spent some time at the cottage and some time working on our house this weekend..was the perfect mix of work and leisure! I woke up this morning feeling the most relaxed I’ve felt in a LONG time! Here are some snap shots from our weekend.

It’s “5 o’clock” somewhere”

Belle cuddles.Nothing beats this kind of sunset.

Family love.

Cracked a bottle of our favourite wine to toast to cottage season. Picked it up on my recent visit to San Diego.

Charcuterie, wine and a still lake – paradise.

Cheers to Victoria Day!

G&T’s for Victoria Day…. most “British” cocktail we could make with what we had at the lake.
