24 hours in Toronto

This past weekend Ben & I had a friends wedding in Toronto so we took advantage of having a “mini getaway”. Saturday we ran some errands and then made a pit stop in our old neighbourhood at our favourite restaurant, House on Parliament and went to our favourite shop to grab a few things. A couple of the only things I really miss about living in Cabbagetown.

Snacks at the HOP. The Caesar salad rocks!

Ben & I reminiscing about our  “simple life” in Cabbagetown

Post- Cabbagetown visit we checked into our suite at the King Edward Hotel- it was awesome! This may become our “home away from home” on visits into the city. We had a huge suite and loved the little time we spent there.

Following some beverages with two of our bests at the hotel, we were off to the wedding at The Storys Building. It was such a beautiful day, amazing wedding and so much fun. Here are few pics I snapped of some of the decor which was absolutely stunning. The decor was put together by a friend of theirs Erin Connor, check her instragram out @erinpconnor -you won’t be disappointed. Being the flower lover that I am the following pics are mostly due to my obsession with their white fragrant blooms:

The next day were were a little “sleepy” from celebrating, so we enjoyed the hotel and then decided to grab a quick brunch at another one of our favourite Toronto spots, Origin . We were NOT disappointed.  We enjoyed ever bite and then made the long drive back to Kingston with full hearts and full bellies.

Ben with our freshly squeezed orange and blood orange juice! French toast : duck confit + blueberries + hoisin + sesame seed brittle + sour cream Short rib hash + chimi churri + jus + fried egg + buttermilk onion rings Tostada Ranchero + fried egg + avocado + black bean + salsa + bacon Bye-bye Toronto!Anchors aweigh!
